7th Empty Bowls seeks home for 900th bowl

7th annual Empty Bowls, Milton Transitional Housing

On a cool April day in 2011, we launched our transitional housing solution in Milton. Fast forward to 2017 and we invite you to our 7th annual Empty Bowls event.

On Sunday, April 23rd we anticipate selling our 900th bowl since 2011. The organisation has built up around that embryonic foray.  We now have 9 graduates from the MTH program. The Milton community has rallied around to volunteer and support our 9 units.

“That’s nine clients who came to use experiencing homelessness or a housing crisis who have now gone on to stable, long-term affordable housing of their own,” said Donna Danielli, Executive Director.

Sunday, April 23 starting at 11.30am

We look forward to again serving you gourmet soup from our wonderful supporting restaurants. First, however, you will need to deliberate on which bowl to choose. It can be a tricky decision.

Our 900th bowl represents a lot of soup that has been served since 2011. After all, you can eat as much soup as you like. We are so thankful to our tremendous restaurants and caterers for their ongoing support. You have all helped make a tangible difference in people’s lives in our Milton community.

“It is wonderful to see the formal launch of a project to make provision for those most in need in our community, which started back in September 2008,” I wrote back on April, 30 2011.
