Fabulous Milton #cnoy17 Walk raises $50,000

We are very proud of Milton for the wonderful turnout of walkers for our fourth annual COLDEST NIGHT OF THE YEAR WALK in Milton – more than 200 people walked altogether – and with the wind, it really felt like the coldest night too!.

When all of the proceeds are counted, together we raised more than $50,000! That money will go a LONG WAY to supporting Milton Transitional Housing’s participants through the next year, and they (and we) are very grateful to everyone who contributed.

Countdown on to Milton Fashionista Flip!!!

We are now just one short week away from our third annual Milton Fashionista Flip!!!

Fashion minded ladies have been taking the opportunity to clean out their closets of those hardly worn clothes and accessories and donating them to MTH.

On Saturday, January 28, they will join us at The Italian Canadian Club of Milton at 104 Tremaine Road, Milton to renew and refresh their wardrobes for the upcoming season.

The event runs from 10 am to 3 pm. Tickets are available for a cost of $10 each and then each item of clothing is $2. That’s right – just $2! That designer bag, those classy shoes, that new dress – each is just $2!

New this year is the VIP event on Friday, January 27 at 6:30 pm – this features tea and refreshments, a fashion show and a chance to shop early. Tickets are $50

Tickets for both events are available on eventbrite.ca and all proceeds of the sale will support those experiencing a housing crisis in our own community.

Currently, Milton Transitional Housing is responsible for 9 rental units and has 24 participants receiving services from the organization.

We couldn’t do what we do without your support so thank you so much to those who have purchased tickets or donated clothes to this event.

Tickets are also available at the MTH office at 25 Brown Street (inside the Habitat for Humanity ReStore).

Donations can also be dropped off at the MTH office or the Vacuum Store at 785 Main Street East.

The Giving Heart of Milton!!!

“I really can’t believe the kindness and generosity you have shown me in a town that only a year ago seemed very cold,” is a recent message from one of our clients.

This holiday season has been an overwhelming one for those of us at MTH – the breadth of the generosity and human compassion has brought both staff and clients to tears.
